Jay Handt, D.C. holds a special place in his heart for the importance of family chiropractic care. His wife, Kathi, and their three children, Josh, Ryan and Morgan, all receive regular wellness chiropractic care. Dr. Handt thinks family health is so important that he established special family care plans to offset the rising costs of modern health care.

Dr. Handt founded New York Chiropractic Life Center upon graduating in 1978. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at Life University, the International Chiropractic Association (ICA), the American Chiropractic Association and many more national chiropractic associations and organizations.

David O’Bryon, founder and president of O’Bryon & Company, is chair of The Academic Consortium for Complementary and Alternative Health Care. With more than 30 years of association and government experience, he has served organizations as an executive, consultant, and volunteer. He has served as Executive Director of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges since 1996. He currently is the President of the Federation of Schools of the Allied Health Professions.

The Octagon

The Octagon at Life University was created to foster dialogue and exchange on important social, political and conceptual issues based on Life University’s Eight Core Proficiencies. The Octagon creates an environment where questions and issues from every avenue of life can be embraced, discussed, debated and acted upon. As with most things in life it is not constrained by a lack of desire or need but only by limited human and financial resources. It is the intention of the University’s president, Dr. Guy Riekeman, for the Octagon to tackle important and controversial matters that will have long range impact and the potential for application in other fields. The Octagon does not seek to be reckless in its work but it does seek to be fearless in its charge, prepared to confront matters that frustrate society in a meaningful way. The Octagon can best be described as a think tank to promote world changing discussion related to healthcare and the human condition.

Dr. Gary lives in Bucks County and is practicing in Newtown. Dr. Gary attended The College of New Jersey (then Trenton State College) where he met his wife, Marggie. After attending Chiropractic School in Georgia they knew that they wanted to return to this area and raise their two sons. Dr. Scardino took over McAulay Chiropractic in June 1998. When Dr. Gary isn’t at the office he is usually spending time with his wife and children  ( his favorite hobby!), riding bikes, watching them play lacrosse or just hanging out together.

Drew Rubin, D.C. has been in private practice since 1989. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member with Life University’s College of Chiropractic, where he teaches Pediatric Diagnosis and three electives. Dr. Rubin is a frequent presenter for the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. He earned the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (C.C.S.P.) designation and his Diplomate in Chiropractic Pediatrics (D.A.C.C.P.).

Dr. Rubin has written two chiropractic novels, “The Adjustment” and its sequel, “The Acceptance” and is a proud PEAK doctor, having regularly mentored students in his private, pediatric-based practice since 2011.
